The Washington County Tennessee Library Foundation (WCTLF) serves as the 501(c)(3) recipient of contributions to be used to support the needs and activities of the Washington County Public Library system. The WCTLF is committed to supporting the Library’s mission of supporting the personal, educational, and professional needs of county residents.

This year has been filled with the excitement of the potential move of the Gray Library Branch of the Washington County Library System. The current library is located at 5026 Bobby Hicks Hwy in Gray and will be moving to the former CITI Building located at 541 Sid Martin Rd, approximately two miles to the NE. We would like to thank Mayor Grady and the members of the Washington County Board of Commissioners for making this possible.

This is a wonderful opportunity for the library to increase its size and the services that it offers to the community. The library needs funds to help with the remodeling and for the purchase of new furniture, books, shelves, children’s room activities, etc. The new location will increase the library footprint by almost 7000 square feet. With this increase in space the library would like to offer much needed private learning rooms, updated seating for individual and group use, and increase its collection in both children and adult material. The library would also like to update the shelves used for the

collection. The updated shelves will help to maintain space efficiency by making sure the proper size of shelves will be used in the location plus allowing the shelves to be mobile with lockable wheels on each unit.

The mission of WCTLF is to raise funds to be used solely to purchase land, build, equip and furnish two (2) state-of-the-art library buildings and provide long-term funding for the needs of current and future Foundation projects

Donations are accepted online through the donation box on this page. You may select a one-time or monthly recurring donation in any amount.

If you wish to donate by paper check, please fill out our Donation Letter linked at the bottom of this page and make your check payable to “WCTLF”. These can be mailed to or dropped off at the Jonesborough Library. The WCTL Foundation currently accepts checks or donations made through your IRA.
