The Washington County Library System, which includes the Washington County-Jonesborough Library and the Gray Branch Library, provides materials and services to assist county residents to obtain information meeting their personal, educational, and professional needs. Special emphasis is placed on maintaining a diversified collection to support the interests and needs of all library patrons, especially in the area of historical and genealogical research.

The library also provides a challenging environment for young children, teen, and adults designed to promote interest in, and appreciation for, reading and learning.
